Meet Our Owners

Meadow Vista Honey Wines is owned by sisters Emily and Electra, along with meadmaker Andrew.

Emily Vanderschee

Emily has spent over 30 years in the winery and food and beverage industry in Vancouver and then the Okanagan Food and Beverage, Managing Restaurants and Directing Catering & Events! She was a part of the early Farm to Table Movement in Kelowna in the 1990s and has always had a passion for Local! With Meadow Vista, the goal was Farm to Table, local and Farm to Retail, a concept that has been close to Emily’s passion for years!

Electra Logan

Electra Logan joined her sister at Meadow Vista Honey Wines in 2017 (sister owners!). Electra has a degree in Social Work and has worked with Children and Youth for the past 30 years. She has created and facilitated programs for local nonprofits and Okanagan schools, teaching social-emotional skills and mindfulness. Electra’s passion for education and community inspired the creation of our Bee Tour and our Bee Awareness and Pollination program!

Andrew Durrant

Meadmaker Andrew joined as co-owner in 2021, when Meadow Vista started to grow and produce enough to promote throughout BC. His expertise in Mead Making and amazing ideas have helped propel Meadow Vista to international recognition.

Both Emily, Electra & Andrew have a vision of an environmentally positive future for honeybees, a sustainable and proactive alcoholic beverage, a farm-to-table Bistro, and a farm-to-retail, locally inspired Wine Shop. Meadow Vista was thrilled to win the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Environmental Impact award in 2022 and continues to work at being leaders and stewards of Sustainability for Honeybees and the Environmental Region!
